Broker authority & agent disclosure

Our role: three parties, not one

TankWorldWide is a booking agent. We build the quote, market the lane, match the load and manage the shipment end to end — but we are not the licensed property broker and we are not the motor carrier.

The broker of record is Crossover Auto Transport. Your shipment is arranged under that company's FMCSA property broker authority and secured by its federally required surety bond.

The motor carrier is an independent, FMCSA-authorized trucking company that holds its own operating authority and its own cargo and liability insurance. That carrier performs the physical transportation and is responsible for the condition of your property in transit.

Authority and financial responsibility

Federal law requires every property broker to maintain a $75,000 BMC-84 surety bond or trust. The bond protects shippers and carriers against a broker's failure to pay amounts owed under a transportation arrangement.

That authority status, insurance filings and bond are matters of public record and can be looked up in the FMCSA licensing and insurance database using the numbers above.

Loss or damage to your property in transit: the assigned motor carrier and its cargo insurer. We document and press the claim on your behalf.

Non-payment or a failure of the brokerage arrangement itself: the broker of record (Crossover Auto Transport) and its BMC-84 surety bond.

How we select the carrier for your shipment

Carriers must submit active MC/USDOT authority and a current certificate of insurance before they can receive a load. We store the policy expiry date and automatically suspend a carrier's access the day coverage lapses.

We match your shipment to qualified carriers based on lane coverage, equipment type, verified performance history and price. You are told which carrier is assigned before pickup.

Your right to carrier information

Before pickup you may request — and we will provide — the assigned carrier's legal name, MC and USDOT numbers, and a copy of the certificate of insurance on file. You may also request a copy of the record of the transaction kept by the broker of record.

Insurance, damage and claims

Cargo coverage for your shipment is provided by the assigned motor carrier's policy. TankWorldWide facilitates and documents claims — collecting the signed Bill of Lading, condition photos and timestamps, and pressing the carrier and its insurer for a decision — but the carrier's insurer is the payer of record.

The Bill of Lading is a contract between you and the motor carrier. TankWorldWide is not a party to it.

Quotes, fees and re-brokering

Amounts you pay consist of the carrier's transportation charge plus a brokerage fee for arranging and managing the shipment. That fee is shared between the broker of record and TankWorldWide as its agent. A locked price does not change unless the shipment details change.

Carriers accepting a load on this platform may not re-broker it to another carrier without written authorization. Double-brokering is grounds for immediate removal from the marketplace.
